COMMUNITY SERVICE

“A true and sincere service to the youth and mold the generation into globally competitive and responsible individuals”—This is the primary aim and vision of a mentor at heart who only once dreamt of building a small center and presently, has bloomed into existence - - establishing an institution the Garcianos will truly admire.

The dream began when Mrs. Edita Silva-Dimaculangan, an educator, who spent half of her life teaching at the Mabini Academy, the energetic founder, established Holy Trinity School. After twenty-five years of teaching, Mrs. Dimaculangan, known for her being strict but compassionate teacher, ended her service in The Mabini Academy. Her continuous determination to serve the Filipino youths, never ceased, in fact, her resignation in the academy imbued her to establish an institution for the youths to provide them quality education. Mrs. Dimaculangan, along with her husband, Mr. Rolando P. Dimaculangan, and the whole family, opened the first Summer Enhancement Program last April, 1998 with only twenty students and one teacher – Ms. Josie Escartin. They started the center in a small house and named it Holy Trinity School, after the three divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

In God’s will, the dream of Ma’am Edith came into reality. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS which is now known as Department of Education (DepEd) gave the school its permit to operate. It was released on March 17, 1998 with DECS Permit No. K-092 for Pre-Elementary and E-087 for Elementary level. HTS offered Pre-Elementary and Grade1 of the Elementary Course for School Year 1997 – 1998. First, HTS had a total of 60 students with two versatile mentors - - Teacher Josie Escartin and Teacher Grace Ilagan. It was the first time when HTS showed the Garcianos its mission and vision to provide the youths the quality education. An increase in enrolment of almost 150% for the following year showed that HTS has gone farther. Based on the observation of the Decs Officer headed by Mrs. Beth Mercado with a very satisfactory rating, again Decs issued another permit with number K-008 and E-009 series of 1999 on November 11, 1998 for School Year 1999-2000. HTS offered Pre-Elementary and Grades One to Four of the Elementary Course. HTS provided Addition building for the students.

In its third year of operations, HTS offered Pre-Elementary, Elementary and First year and second year of the secondary course with permit number k-116 (Pre-elementary), e-120(elementary) and 018 (high school), It had less than 300 enrollees.

That same school year, it really showed up something Garcianos must be proud of; One of its greatest achievements is the Broadway Musical Presentation held at Lipa City Youth and Cultural Center last December 8, 2000. Once again, HTS shown not only to the residents of Padre Garcia but to the Batangaueños as a whole, that it is really committed to develop the youth not only academically (though it is its priority) but also physically, emotionally and socially.

The development and progress of HTS is so rapid that it became a prestigious institution situated at the center of the town proper having two-storey buildings with complete amenities; a sign that it is growing.

The center with only 20 students before had blossomed and so, a much bigger building was constructed. The Main Building located at M.H. del Pilar Street, had stood to occupy more the growing number of Trinitarians, serving Nursery till Third Year High School between the year 1999-2001. Holy Trinity School became popular to the whole town of Padre Garcia, so the School Directress, Ma’am Edita, and the Assistant School Director, Sir Roland had extended another building in J.P. Rizal Street (the Annex), having two floors with pure white, horseshoe-like structure serving Garcianos since 2001 until at present, having students from Grade 4 to Fourth Year.

This institution had been a pillar in Padre Garcia, winning home the bacon in every contest; reaching Area, Division, and Regional Level Competitions. Truly, HTS is the haven of the Garcianos for its 10 years of existence.

The determination of the Dimaculangan couple had not ended in this scenario. To serve more, they came out with the possibility to extend their service by branching out into the other Municipalities in Batangas.

April 2007, they built an extension in Mataas na kahoy and lipa city, located at poblacion, mataas na kahoy and mataas na lupa, lipa city respectively. Mataas na kahoy branch is offering pre-elementary, elementary and high school courses while the lipa city branch caters pre-elementary and elementary courses. In its first year of operation, the school had shown exemplary students who joined in various contests reaching division, regional and national levels. A.Y. 2016-2017, Senior High School Department had been established in compliance to the implementation of K to 12 Program offering STEM, ABM and HUMSS academic strands. It was October 2018, when the pre-elementary and primary department transferred in the annex building, which from then had been called as the main branch. Recently, the school gymnasium and school canteen have been renovated into a more conducive learning for physical education and a convenient- safe place in providing food and necessities.

Holy Trinity School still finds its way to more opportunities, to explore further and to enhance in the outside world. Currently, the institution supports the K to 12 curriculum of Deped. HTS shall never cease educating the young generation in our nation for this institution is the best bridge for the Filipinos to be globally-competitive.
